FRIDAY MUD GIVEAWAY 11/14/08

Hurray for FRIDAY! This week's giveway is in keeping with November's GRATITUDE theme. It's a ceramic BLESSINGS jar. It's a great activity to do with your family this Thanksgiving. Write down the things you are grateful for on the paper hearts that are included, and then re-read them from year to year.

This contest ends Monday 11/17/08.
Winners will be chosen at random.
One entry per person.
TO ENTER: You are stranded on a desert island and have access to only ONE BLOG IN THE WHOLE ENTIRE WORLD. Forget your friendships and your loyalties-this isn't about that. You can only read ONE (and it's not your own, BTW.) WHAT BLOG IS IT? Answer in the comments section below.

Project Rungay? Might as well enjoy myself!

Oh, you totally got me with the "not your own." If it could be my own, I could still keep tabs on my blogger friends!

Fine, if I have to choose 1, I'm going to pick The Pioneer Woman. Which is still kind of cheating, since she has like 12 blogs within her blog. So there. :p

TJ said...

That's a hard one, but I'd probably say codenameblogtastica.blogspot.com cuz he always makes me laugh, and I would probably really need it.

I'd probably have to go with dooce. But if I could have TWO, this would definitely be second, but I guess it's too late to suck up since I already said dooce, huh?
:)

Oh that's a hard one cause I read SO MANY!! I would hate to miss out on The Pioneer Woman though...

Can I totally kiss your ass and say yours? Cos your blog is one of my faves...

If Full Room updated more frequently, I'd tap them. But My Old Kentucky Blog updates multiple times per day, and there are links to MUSIC on the page. (I assume I would have speakers and eardrums on said island).
Sadly, there aren't a lot of porn blogs, and reading about alcohol without any booze on hand is counterproductive. So that leaves music...

Gee, that's hard! I want to laugh, so I'd pick Miss Thystle. (and then I could use her blog to link to every one else!)

I would totally kiss your ass right now if I didn't think that Kristin somehow already had this rigged despite not having commented.

So I'm going to say Nadine over at velvettush.blogspot.com because 1) she's awesome and 2) she's my first blogging friend from way back in our MSN spaces days and 3) I'm pretty sure she's my sister though my dad deny's it.

easy peasey - I'd take Jenx67.com this darling blogger is fun, all encompassing, inclusive, informative, educated, laugh out loud, does amazing wraps ups of world stuff and posts the most moving images - I am adopting her a cyber sister so it is family first I'd have to say....

I am a cheat and would also take BJ from Don't overthing it ... she is my role model - hugs le

Can I say Maureen Dowd? I know she blogs over there at the NY Times and is pretty high falutin' but she is so dang funny and I will always heart her for not pulling any punches when it came to Saracuda.

Next time I hope your contest will involve what outfits, shoes, head scarves, etc., we would choose for our island stay. I would so much rather talk about that.

I pick Dlisted because he is hilarious and my survival would depend on whether or not Britney Spears had Starbucks that day.

Love the jar!

I'd pick Beaux's blog, This Isn't Happening (beaux24.blogspot.com) because it's a weird mix of tenderness and humor, great photography and funny sketches as he goes through liver failure but doesn't talk about it much. And he lets me sleep with him (although he made me marry him first).

I'd have to say wilsontrips. He has triplet girls who were born in February 2007. One of the three still weighs less than 16 pounds (she's had a feeding tube for a couple of months and has actually gained; she weighed only 11 this past summer). I would really miss not seeing how the girls were doing.

I can't suck up and say your blog because I actually just found it. A friend sent me to noble pig and from I went to scrappinjenny - and then to yours. LOL!

I have some questions.

will I be able to post comments?
cause I'm going to have ALOT to say if i have no one to talk to except the occasional iguana that may end up as dinner if the fishing is bad that day and I've lost the rock that busts the coconuts. so i'll say yours and i'm not sucking up I just want you to know I'm still out there building signal fires and reading about your antics.

Bj in Dallas said...

oh wait! I don't need a blog. George Clooney just washed up, alive but with amnesia, and I've convinced him I am his long lost lover that he has been looking for. Don't send help, just a monthly ration of Chardonnay, because I just poured my wine on the signal fire.

That is really hard because there are so many. But I am going to pick my wife's niece: From the Top of the Stairs... because she is really sweet and it would allow me to keep up with all the family stuff. Plus, the only reason I ended up in the blogosphere was because I started reading her blog.

Jennifer Chronicles (jenx67.com) said...

What a great question. I guess I'd have to say my mom's blog, even though she has hardly started posting. Knowing I was out there and stranded, she'd be writing everything I needed to know to survive until someone found me. Great questions Lorrie - and nice of Le to say what she said - and BJ - that chick is funnnneeee.

Well this is pretty much the only blog I read regularly. But that's a cop-out.

If I was on a deserted island, maybe I would choose the CNN daily caption contest blog:

http://ac360.blogs.cnn.com/category/beat-360%C2%B0/

I would learn a bit about what was going on in the world news-wise, and also the proposed submissions would remind me daily of how stupid most people are, which would make me happier to be alone on a desert island.

Ilissa said...

That is a really hard one...There are so many I'd pick. I'll just pick one of my many favorites: An Island Review. Thanks for the chance!

Id have to say The Art of Jesse, because his blog is always so rich in colour and words. Not to mention his loyal friendship to all his readers.

Melody said...

I'll say The wilderness survival blog!

http://www.wilderness-survival-skills.com/wilderness-survival-blog.html

Since im stuck on a desert, it makes a lot of sense to me to try to start learning how to even survive there by learning how to start a fire, etc. No point to start looking at fahion blogs if im gonna die from the cold! HAH! That's my opinion i guess. :P

Thanks for the fun giveaway!

Cheers,
Melody

It would have to be dlisted.com
I'd get entertainment, topical news items, La Pequena and some serious laughs.

With the risk of sounding like a suck up, I'd pick your blog. You make me laugh and I feel like I know you.

LuckyMe said...

Great question. I have a lot of homework to do, checking out all of these blogs. I would have to pick Suzanne Broughton @ Alive in Wonderland because she posts frequently, has beautiful pictures, fun music and she's always upbeat. Plus, her husband is a green beret so I know she would send him to rescue me!

LuckyMe said...

It would help if I actually linked her, huh? but i don't know how so here's her URL.

http://www.emphasisallmine.com/emphasismine/

for Alive in Wonderland

If I have to be stranded on a desert island then I refuse to touch the computer (even for your blog). Just give my books and wine back to me.

Suz Broughton said...

Thanks Lucky Me. I'm the one who feels lucky (blessed) to have such a great bloggy friend. Without you, who would encourage me to cook more and give me a laugh?
Thanks.
This looks like a fun site, too. Thanks for bringing me here!
Suz

Okay, I climbed out of bed to comment, because I LOVE the Blessing jar.

I started reading blogs with this one www.thewvsr.com (warning, it's NOT a mommy blog, it's written by Jeff Kay and it's funny, and the comments take on a life of their own. Once he went to London for 2 weeks and we kept commenting and got up to some ridiculously high number - 900? maybe) from there, I found daswede.blogspot.com - the Blonde Goddess who is funny and irreverent and bawdy (Thystle, you'd love her), but she lost her mojo and hasn't been blogging much since September. I hope she's back soon. From there, I found ETW :::waving::: HI! picking ONE is waaaay to difficult, since I currently have like 68 on my blog feeder, but no day is complete without checking in with Thystle and Lorrie.

If I HAVE to pick one, I'll go with Thystle because she's like the bad girl side of me.

...Or maybe Lorrie since she's like the good girl side of me.

Oh, I give UP, I'm not going to win anyway. :-)

Bj in Dallas said...

oh KWR you could SO win again, don't give up, because if George Clooney can float up on my island, anything can happen...

Bj in Dallas said...

and BTw that Kreg guy is funny as hell...

Debra said...

Hi Lorrie,

I absolutely LOVE this jar. If I don't win it, you will have to tell me where I can buy one. It just speaks to my very mushy side!

I adore so many blogs and it is hard to pick just one because I love them for so many different reasons. Right now, I would have to say Melissa's blog, The Inspired Room, because her site is just so cozy and inspirational. She writes about decorating, home, and living a grateful life. I first "met" her when her site was just a little thing and now it's all grown up!

Big hugs,
Debbie

Hands down, my must read is The Adventures of Curt and Katie Mulder.

http://ckmulder.blogspot.com/

Katie is living out her dream on a tiny little farm in Michigan, and teaches me about chickens and sewing and hay rides and makes me think with fun questions and challenges, AND, she posts EVERY Monday and Thursday. A little regularity is a wonderful thing to count on, particularly on my desert island with wifi ;).

This is a hard one. But I think I would have to say I Shot a Man in Reno. Funny title, and all of the posts are titles of Friends episodes. I think you would really laugh. Very funny.

It would be Momdot

The Evil Twin sent me over here - I've only read your last couple posts but this blurb:

Confession: I am a slacker about a lot of things. (But not my commitment to teach The Spawn how to use a corkscrew. My seven year old can't tie his own shoelaces, but you should see him cut the foil away on a bottle of Chard.)

assures I'll be back! Why have I not taught my 8 year old this yet?
Also loved the pottery Evil Twin won. Very cute!
