Video Response to Dooce

Dooce fans will remember the recent posting of the short film How To Cook and Eat Edamame by Heather B. Armstrong & Jon on www.dooce.com. Here now, is our response to that film. Kip wants you to know a few things before viewing:

1) He did not have a nap before filming, and his hair always looks like that.

2) That is a cat, not a recently castrated dog.

You guys have too much fun together!

And too much time on your hands. :-)

I'm trying to IMAGINE my husband doing anything like that for me. Too funny.

LOL!

I'm disturbed Kip was suckling from a cat.

I'll be interested to find out if the blurbodoocery has a response.

Keep me laughing.

I need it

EAST SIDE, BABY! (makes gang symbol 'E' but has to use two hands because not adept.) I'm thinking cat fur? In the mouth? Not so much! And 'Better than a wound" is my husband's typical reaction to my cooking. Off to read the rest of your blog!

Awesome. Just awesome. Thanks for invitin' me over :)

And, hey, I have those waffles in my freezer now!

And your kitchen mural? I have a few of those prints...

THANK GOD YOU FOUND ME WE ARE CLEARLY DESTINED TO BE FRIENDS!

I must continue to peruse and find other ways we are cosmically M.F.E.0. ;)

very funny. sometimes i am amazed at what the blog public is intrigued by. BTW your cat seemed to feel slighted by the lack of air time.

oh, and nice lighting ; )

Nicely done. I particularly like your mock Heather-like enthusiasm for the package and your husband's rendition of Jon's deadpan tone. Better than a wound, indeed!

Thanks for swinging by my blog and letting me know about the video. I may have to start digging into your archives to find out what other gems you possess.

Sweet! Though, if you are going to be totally neurotic like Heather, you need to ask him EXACTLY what setting he put the toaster on!

VERY FUNNY! Cat wounds are MUCH easier to lick!

East Side! Woot!

Dude... I swear to God I don't even own a toaster. If it ain't microwaved, it ain't happening. (Could you give step by step directions for microwaving, please?)

:)

My favorite part: "I like pancakes!" That song is STILL running through my brain!!!

Great job, people.

I heard a NY accent from you! Don't know what I expected, but it actually threw me off for a minute!
I too love The Banana chiming in about the pancakes
Now could someone tell me HOW again she is making so much money?
The video of Jon eating chicken feet at a restaurant is so uneventful I can't believe its even on there
oh well, to each his own (meaning the deep pockets of her advertisers)
haven't even touched the house tour comments but you are BRAVE!
I could do a Carpet Stain tour of my house and then a connect the stains sort of treasure map.
Oh no, my max word usage just ran ou.....

Thanks for stopping by my blog and inviting me over. I've actually read yours before and found it quite entertaining. I must confess: I'm a cat person too.

My son actually eats his frozen.... our poor toaster never gets any use.

Thanks for the invite!

Pretty funny, especially how much you mock little things in Dooce's video. But I do have to ask- were those eggos frozen or thawed when you placed them in the toaster? Critical element left out of this instructional video, and some individuals may be at a loss of what to do even before they have begun! My other question is- what brand of syrup do you use for your eggos? Another very important point for someone who is being "spoon fed" an instructional how-to. :)

Thanks for checking out my blog and leaving a comment. Have a good one.

You are a billion percent more awesome than Dooce. Maybe a trillion.

Well, thank you for finding my blog and introducing yourself via leaving a comment. This video had me on the floor--you did a PERFECT parody...and I think I love you. Very funny.

BTW--I have cats too, so cat hair/dog hair in the food? Doesn't really matter, it's all good.

That's about what cats are good for in my home--eating. And of course, providing exercise for my three large dogs, who I hopefully will not be licking in the forseeable future.

Thanks for the video!

We do not have too much time on our hands. We did this in the morning between cheerios and camp.

The cat or dog sucking is just so wrong that it reminds me of a movie where a young girl in college with time on her hands decides to blow her dog. It's not porn but one of the quirkiest movies I have ever seen. I can't remember the movie's name but got it off pay 4 view.

Thanks for stopping by my blog. I love parody and your video is a fine example. East Coast baby.

That was pretty damn funny. I had misgivings when I read your comment, but I was pleasantly surprised by your video.
"Takes one to know one" was awesome.
I'm gonna link to you!

Two thumbs up! I've been wondering how to make Eggo's for quite a while. You and Dooce have inspired me--I've gotta work on a cooking video too. Involving dogs. Before summer is over.

Hahahaha...anyone can make edimame but we're going to make Eggos? That was freaking awesome. And I loved your daughter popping up with "HI! I LIKE PANCAKES!"

Anonymous said...

I wonder if Dooce wants to borrow my "Everything's Better with Dog Hair" platter (a fine product made by Our Name is Mud) to serve her edamame on.

ha ha freakin' ha!

ah, someday I hope to be famous enough that people mock me ... i mean people other than my kids, cuz i got that NOW and it's not so funny, but i can put them in time out. which reminds me, can i please win a clock please? to help with time outs for mocking?

Oh, that poor cat! (Also, I think you need some music to accompany that film.)

I don't read Dooce, truly, I find her blog boring! But you are adorable, my friend.

did i say this before? seems like maybe. nothing against dooce, but once upon a time i spent a whole night (which i will never get back) reading her entire blog from the beginning up to the most recent post.

and what i noticed is that there seemed to be a pattern to her writing the kind of goes gripe, complain, whine, criticize, be victimized, excessive sarcasm, be crass, and go for the low-lying fruit for shock appeal.

i was glad i noticed this right off, cause if i'd just read day by day without the concentration of an entire night's reading, i mightn't have realized it for a long time.

so no dooce for me. there has to be SOME gratitude for and joy in life! i like how you find that every day. you and your cute family.
