I have *such a short memory - they've all faded into a blur... and been re-gifted.

Today is my (cough) fortieth birthday. My son gave me a heart assembled out of red legos and my daughter made a big poster that says "39 Forever" in pretty colors and hung it from the fireplace. My husband kissed be goodbye wearing only his pants (my favorite look on him) before leaving for his long call day (& night) at the hospital at 5am this morning.

oh wait, you wanted bad gifts. i guess i've always rebeled against rules...and since i've had some doozies (given and received), i'd rather not think about those today. after all, red lego heart wrapped in beloved blanky by sweetheart boy and 39 forever poster from sweetheart girl...what more could I ask for?!

ok, never mind. I withdraw my name. My mil reads my blog and it would not do to make her mad or embarrass her. . .Seriously though, I could SO win this contest if I wasn't afraid of making certain in-laws furious!!! : )

I wish I could post about this but I'm not sure if my sister-in-law knows about my blog and EVERY ONE of my awful gifts I have received (Darling, I don't give bad gifts)have been from her.

The bad gifts include:

1. A very expensive nail care set that was in this expensive professional case (it had an electric buffer, all sorts of ceramic nail files, stuff I'm not even sure what it was) that had been USED complete with dried nail polish smudged on the lid.

2. A serving platter from Applebee's. That said 'Applebee's' on it. For real.

3. A very nice brown leather purse from Banana Republic that I was super excited to get and carry. Until I opened it and noticed crumbs in it and ink marks.

4. Pampered Chef products out the ass, but the stupid shit, like an apple slicer or a garlic press. The good news about this stuff is I re-sell it on Craigslist for a profit.

5. Socks that looked like they were knitted out of pubic hair and a pen that is also a nail file. This was for Christmas last year and the gifts were in the same bag.

I could go on, but I'm getting too pissed with the recall. And she doesn't give my husband shitty gifts, just me.

I strongly dislike her.

Hope your girly is feeling better.

I don't blog, so does posting it here count?

At a former place of work we used to have a present exchange. All of the presents were placed on a table, then names were drawn out of a hat. As each name was drawn that person got to choose a parcel. When my name came up I made a beeline for the obvious bottle of wine (no disguising that one with gift wrap, or so I thought). Alas, when I unwrapped it, I discovered a wine bottle containing popcorn kernels.

OK, I'm going to do it. Even though my mom is probably going to get pissed at me for doing so :) Thanks for the extension. Monday was rough for me!

The funniest thing is that the weather has kept the internet down at our house since about 2 AM on the 15th. :P So I didn't even get to participate. STILL. I've seen so much funny stuff that I could have died laughing.

Anybody want my ice storm?
