THiS I SNoW

Yesterday was the first SNOW DAY in five years for New York City. I think we had a whole six inches, but The Winter Warlock could have been lying, and it might have just been four.

This was my walk to work yesterday.

The Spawn took their sleds to a parking lot and sat on them, wearing snow boots from last year that no longer fit. Today, the city is one big pool of grey slush.

Officially Spring begins in 18 days. Someone please send a memo to Mother Nature.

Snow in November, December, January or even February = MAGICAL

Snow in March = SUCKS BIG TIME and is always gray and ugly. :-(

Snow is ALWAYS welcome as far as I'm concerned. We could show your kids a good time around here.

Sledding in a parking lot? Out here we do it on hills - usually in a PARK, which only SOUNDS close to PARKing lot.
Um, if you had a snow day why'd you walk to work? Are you a martyr or somthing?

my husband was remarking about how quickly nyc clears their streets. we try here, but sometimes, we get pummeled with more snow than our equipment can clear. we are a small city - 1/8 the size of nyc.

in fact, nyc has 5 million more people than all of oklahoma.

I wish we could trade, it was 70 here yesterday. We got no snow this winter. That means we will be on a water restriction this summer. Boo.

We got a whole 2 inches of snow and the whole City of Atlanta shut down!

Such a weird storm. We barely got a dusting (but lots of wind!) here in the Poconos. Of course, I don't expect real spring for another 2 months.

Try being 40 weeks pregnant in an April blizzard. Not. Pretty.

We got over a foot here in Massachusetts. What made it really bad was we had just had 63 for a high last Friday and that melted the last of the snow we had gotten from all those January storms. When I look out the window all I see is white. And it sucks.

This weather stinks! I've resorted to buying a tanning bed package just to get light and warmth! i think the government should offer me a stimulus package to cover that.

I love hearing about and seeing NYC because it's so different than what I'm used to! Sledding in a parking lot cracks me up.

Heh, that reminds me of how we were all moaning about snowstorms in Toronto, back in January, until someone twittered, "Dear Toronto, Grow some balls. Love, Montreal."
